CLIENT: McNab

Blend worked with McNab over a period of three months to investigate and better document site conditions and develop a methodology for this complex bulk earthwork project. The early contractor engagement period allowed for proper analysis of latent ground conditions prior to establishment on-site, saving on both programme and cost.

Scope

    • Demolition & disposal of three existing portal frame sheds (5,000m2)

    • Demolition & disposal of existing brick offices (1,500m2)

    • Removal and disposal of Class A and Class B asbestos

    • Demolition & disposal of existing trees

    • Excavation and screening of 27,000 tonnes general fill to remove C&D & over-sized rock, stockpiled on site for reuse

    • Isolated removal and disposal of class a asbestos in soils

    • High energy impact compaction (HEIC) to remediate existing unsuitable/inert fill

    • Bulk fill works

    • Crushing of oversized rock 30mm minus roadbase (7,500 tonnes)

    • Place, compact and trim crushed material to form 400mm thick load transfer platform (LTP) for piling contractor (17,000m2)

    • Import, place spread and compact 150mm thick roadbase to external pavements (11,000m2)

  • • Trench, battering/ benching for installation of new stormwater network

    • Installation of new pits, pipes and drainage

    • Installation of shoring boxes for deep connection to existing lines
