It was clear from the first tender meeting that CityPort Cold Stores, Morningside, was going to be a challenging project. 50,000 tonnes of unsuitable/acid sulphate, asbestos and hydrocarbon contaminated spoil export later, Blend handed over a Level 1 certified site, capped entirely in roadbase produced from on-site slab demolition works.
