BLEND PROJECTS OFFERS

licensed demolition services supported by specialised equipment & technical expertise

Attachments can be paired with zero-swing excavators from 2 tonne to 25 tonne for projects with reduced access, or onto larger 25 tonne to 50 tonne excavators when size is of no concern. This combination of diverse attachments and machinery leaves no demolition out of reach.

Sustainable practices underpin Blend’s demolition procedures. Made possible by innovative equipment and ‘out of the box’ solutions to waste separation, Blend maximises the recyclability of waste products. With tested processes and experienced personnel, Blend ensures that work is completed in line with our company values, ensuring safety remains the number one priority.

THE BLEND PROCESS

OUR PROCESS FOR SAFE, sUSTAINABLE demolitION

Every demolition project follows a clear, methodical process – from site preparation and controlled asbestos removal to planned structural teardown and responsible resource recovery. Each stage is handled with care, compliance and precision.

01

preparation

Prior to commencing demolition work a building approval through a licensed private building certifier may be required. It’s important to confirm with council that you’re not in a demolition-free precinct and that the structure you’re wanting to demolish is not heritage listed. A demolition permit is also required prior to commencement of works. Blend can arrange building approvals and demolition permits as required.

Visit the Brisbane City Council website for more information regarding building approvals.

DISCONNECTION OF SERVICES

  • You will need to arrange for the power at the property to be disconnected. We can guide you through this process.

  • The gas line at the property must be capped at the meter. Contact your service provider to have this completed.

  • The water connection needs to be disconnected. We can arrange for this to be done and a temporary connection to be put in place at the front of the property if required.

  • The sewage service at the property needs to be capped. To cap the service, a licensed plumber will need to locate the sewerage pipe and excavate the area to expose it.

Blend work with a number of licenced plumbers and can arrange for this to be done.

Site Access/Temporary Fencing

Site access is required to allow for truck movement in and out of the property. Erosion and sediment control measures are also often required to prevent the discharge of dirty/contaminated water onto roadways. If not already complete, Blend can include for the installation of rumble pads (with or without grid crossings), silt fencing and council drainage protection.

Blend will supply and erect temporary fencing on site as required and install all relevant safety/project specific signage.

02

Asebestos removal

Blend will review asbestos reports, as well as complete a site visit to confirm/exclude the presence of asbestos. Blend engages licensed asbestos removalists for all asbestos removal works. A clearance certificate will be issued after the final removal works to confirm the dwelling is free from visible asbestos and safe for structural demolition to commence.

03

DEMOLITION

Following confirmation of asbestos clearance Blend will commence with structural demolition works. Done in a controlled manner, Blend ensures all relevant control measures are in place prior to dismantling of structures. Blend will do a final scrape/strip to remove any remaining demolition debris from the property leaving a neat pad, ready for builder establishment.

04

RECYCLING

Blend is committed to salvaging and recycling as much material as possible. Materials such as concrete, metal and timber are separated and salvaged or recycled. Materials unable to be recycled or salvaged are disposed of at licensed disposal facilities (e.g. asbestos, foam, lead).
